Q.

Chicken Pox

My 6yr old daughter has chicken pox, the spots started appearing this morning. I have a 5month old baby that will probably get it. Do i have to take her to the doctor or can I just treat her with calomine lotion and panado, or is it dangerous in small children. She has had all her vaccinations up till now.

Your baby should still be protected against chicken pox by the antibodies you passed to her during pregnancy-that is if you had chicken pox as a child. It is reasonably unlikely but not impossible that she will develop chicken pox.
