Chamberlain''s colic remedy

Hi Doctor,

My 3 week old son is battling so much with cramps &  winds that it constantly disrupts his sleep. Even when he sleeps upright on me during the night/day he scrunches and pulls his legs up, etc. every few minutes - only entering deep sleep for a little while. I have tried telement drops which help a little bit and gripe water does not help at all.

Our Paed has diagnosed him with reflux and I have a reflux medication that I give him twice a day for two weeks (losec) but this does not deal with the cramps.

I went today to buy spasmopep and telement drops but the pharmacist recommended Chamberlain''s colic remedy which he says works better than all the other things put together. My only concern is that each 5ml contains Ethyl Alcoholic (95%). I am not sure what is safe to give newborn babies without harming them/them getting addicted to the alcohol in it?

Please advise whether or not this colic remedy is safe (even though he does not have colic).

thank you very much.

Your baby son does indeed appear to suffer from bad colic.I am rather concerned about the alcohol content of the Chamberlains remedy you mention here. Try Bennetts Colic Remedy which is effective.

To whome it may concern, According to my pharmacist this product has been discontinued. This was one of the most effective products for colic on the market. Can you please advice me where to purchase this product? Regards Marie
