Q.

Cerebral palsy and Gastrostomy

Good day,

My baby boy is now 6 years old and weighs 10kgs. He has spastic cerebral palsy. At the moment he has 3 meals a day with snacks in between. His daily diet is:
Breakfast - 1 Nutrific with milk
Snack - Yoghurt and banana
Lunch - Grated chicken with soft gems/butternut
Snack - Custard and biscuit
Supper - Protein with soft gems or rice and veggies
Snack - 1 glass of Nutren

Do you think it is advisable to have a feeding tube for him and what are the side effects if any of this feeding tube. Please help!!!!

You do not say if he is gaining weight or if you are battling to feed your son. Please fill me in on these points.

He is not loosing weight but also doesn't gain weight at a constant rate. Feeding him is also not an issue.
