Q.

Celestamine for 9 1/2month old baby

My baby is now 9 1/2 months old. He recently had quite severe flu which caused an ear infection. He has now finished with his antibiotics. He went to the Paediatrician for a check up and the doctor prescribed 5ml of Celestamine twice a day for his ears. Is this an acceptable dosage?

Not at all,and in any case I don't want you to give this powerful cortisone medicine to such a young baby.Your baby has had a course of antibiotics which is sufficient to treat an ear infection.Give him a course of probiotics such as Reuteri for 10 days and keep his nose clear with infant saline nose drops twice a day also for 10 days.

I am horrified that your Paed perscribed 5ML of Celestamine!!!!!!!!!
Is he insane? My dauhter was two yrs when her pead suggested 1ml and only if it was absolutely neccessary.

I'd look for a new Paed if I were you.
