can 12mnth baby get virginal thrush?

Morning doctor, I have posted a couple of questions to you before in connection with my 12 month baby girl having 3 bladder infections and being referred to have the MCUG procedure. Just a follow up on that I' m taking her on Friday to see the specialists at the Red Cross hospital in the Renel sector. Last night when I was changing her nappy I noticed just inside her virginal lips was bright red, this made me think it could possibly be thrush (no white spots just very red). This then made me think perhaps she is wheat intolerant which is giving her thrush which is leading to these bladder infections - could this train of thought be possible? If so is there anything specific I should put onto her virgina to sooth/stop this. I will obviously discuss this at my appointment on Friday but the last thing I want is this leading to another bladder infection in the mean time. Thank you so much

This may simply be a reaction to her own urine or to the nappies she is using. It does not sound like thrush, but she has had antibiotics lately and I cannot rule out this possibility. It would be best to wait until you see Prof Mc Collough on Friday.
