Bum creams

Dear Paed

I tend to alternate between petrolium jelly, Fissan bum cream and Bepanthen. Could this be the cause of my daughter' s nappy rash? Should I stick to 1 barrier cream only, or is it ok to alternate?

Many thanks for your advice.

Both Fissan and Bepanthen are good nappy creams and if your baby's nappy rash is not improving it is possible that she is having a reaction to her nappies. Change to another brand and see if this helps. Also do not give her any fruit juices. Do not use Vaseline as a nappy cream now.If her nappy rash continues please write to me again and I will advise you further.

A friend also used petrolium jelly and her baby had very bad nappy rash.
We only use bennetts bum creme and my little one has bery seldom had rash, and if she had it was because of teething but it was never very bad.....
