Q.

Bottle feeding

I wonder if you can advise.

My 8 day old baby is being fed on Nan 1. Every day he seems to be eating better and better. At first he will only drink 40 ml then all of a sudden the next day during feeds he will drink a full 100ml. Is this normal for him to change from little to lots more? He will go a whole day with eating about 60ml per feed, and then the next think he will drink two feeds of 100ml in shorter periods of time. (Not always) I dont know if he is getting enough. Then, should I wake my baby during the night to feed if he hasnt drank for more than 4 hours? People tell me to let him sleep. Help!!!!

Your baby is still very young and is settling into his feeding schedule. He is demand feeding and seems satisfied so all seems to be well.He will start to drink more regular amounts as he settles down.
