Q.

Blood in mucus

My 6 month old picked up the flu. I was advised to use nose drops to help clear up his nose. I didn't use it much, and have now stopped using it, as when he sneezes, there is blood in his mucus. Is this anything to be concerned about?

This is due to extreme dryness of the mucous membranes of his nose. Make sure to continue regularly using the saline nose drops at least twice a day.Do not use any other medicines which will dry his nose more such as Rinex or Demazin or any other nose drops at this time.
