Blocked up

Hi Dr
I would just like to know how long I should let a blocked up nose go on for before I have my little boy (16 months) seen by a doctor. He has had a runny/blocked nose for 6 days now and it does not seem to be clearing. I have been using salex drops as well as Demazin when he seems to have itchy eyes and nose. The Demazin seems to clear up the " itchyness"  as he stops rubbing his face but it does not do anything to unblock his nose. Last night he vomitted up quite a bit of mucous but then slept very well after that and was " clear" . He has quite dark rings under his eyes so I thought it might be a bit of allergy due to the changing seasons. His mucous goes from yellow/green to clear and back to yellow green and he has a cough which is on and off and I assume caused by a post nasal drip. He does not sound chesty or hoarse and he is not battling with any fever. He is however very miserable and I am not sure if it is the blocked nose worrying him or perhaps teething (hands constantly in the mouth). He has just had a nasty tummy bug and was on reuteri drops for a few days. I am not sure if I should continue with the reuteri drops for another week.
Thank you for your advise it is most appreciated.

Your little son does have some symptoms suggestive of nasal allergy, but the nasal discharge you describe is against this diagnosis. He also does have symptoms strongly suggestive of a post nasal drip.He may well have a problem with enlarged adenoids. Use only Salex nose drops twice a day for the next 10 days to try to clear his nose. If the problem persists it would be best to see an ENT specialist about his blocked nose.
