Do you mean Bell's palsy? This is a viral infection of the facial nerve on one side of the face leading to a temporary weakness or paralysis of the affected side of the face.It is useful to take a short course of cortisone for about 5 days if the condition is diagnosed early. The main complication is a possible eye infection due to incomplete closure of the eyelid on blinking. This may require the eye to be protected for a while by a special patch.
