Q.

Bed-wetting

Hi Doc,
My son is currently 3,5 years old. He went off nappies around 9-12 months ago, and coped perfectly with sleeping though and not wetting his bed at all.
Lately he wets his bed almost every night, sometimes during the day he will just wet his pants, being well aware of it. I am concerned that there might be some underlying reason. His homelife is very stable, and he seems to be a very happy and active, normal little boy. He goes to playschool during the day, with no accidents there. I'm not sure why this is happening, specifically at home as well. Could you please advise whether you would suggest I take him to a child pshycologist, doc or what could be the cause of this behaviour.

Best Regards
Liezl

He is still very young and there really is no need to panic. Give him lots more time and if necessary put him back in trainer pants for a while. Reward him if he is dry in the morning and give lots of praise.Never scold him if he wets himself.
