Q.

bathing baby

my baby is 5 months old. i am still holding her over the bath to wash her hair as i dont want to get any water in her ears. she is getting very heavy to hold her this way. is it bad for her to get water in her ears at this age? would it increase the likelihood of her getting an ear infection if her ears do get wet in the bath? thanks!

There is no reason to believe that water getting into your baby's external ear canals will cause ear infections. These usually result from middle ear infection. This does not mean that you can let a large amount of water to get into his ear canals, just be careful and dry his ears gently after bathing.
