Bad eater

My baby girl is 1 year and 3 months old. She does not eat that well. She does not like it when I feed her anymore. She wants to eat by herself. With not much success as almost all the foods end up on the floor. I have tried finger foods but she will only eat a few pieces of chicken, sausage and fruit and then she is done. She does not eat any vegetables or pastas. I am really batteling to get her to eat at home. She is the total opposite at daycare. There she eats everything. We are going on holiday soon and I am stressing already that she will not be eating as she should. (she is a healthy slender little girl) SHOULD I WORRY ABOUT THIS????

As long as your baby girl is happy and healthy there is no need for any concern. Many little girls like to start to feed themselves very early,as is the case with your little daughter.Give her a spoon and let her feed herself. She will eat what she needs. In any case she is eating well at the daycare. Perhaps she is eating so well during the day that she is not that hungry in the evenings.

I had exaxtly the same issue when my daughter turned one. I stressed myself crazy wondering how my child is managing with such little food. Well, it is now about 10 months later, she still eats very little, but she has picked up 3kg''s in the last 6 months and she is very healthy and very happy! So the doc is right! Keep offering her foods, let her feed herself, and as time goes by you will see that she will be just fine :-)
