Q.

bad breath toddler

My 3 year old has been very good with having her teeth brushed since her first row of teeth appeared, and we brush every night before she goes to bed. However, she wakes up with bad breath. She also has white residue around her mouth in the morning, although she does not drink anything before or during the night. Is this something to be concerned about?

She must be mouth breathing when she sleeps. Does she snore? This problem usually arises from infected tonsils and adenoids in this age group and not from her teeth if they are in good condition. Please have her checked by a doctor, preferably a paediatrician.
