Baby' s stuffy nose

Hi Doc

Please help, my little boy - now four and a half months old has been scratching and rubbing his nose - esp at night. It sounds stuffy at night and his breathing sounds gargled and almost like snoring, he constantly rubs his nose or scratches it often scarring it and causing it to bleed, I use mittens to prevent further scarring but htat just annoys him and he has learnt how to take the mittens off. I have tried Saline drops and a flora spray, please help this has been happening since his first month and it is affecting his sleep at night.

This is not a simple problem. Babies must have a clear open nose to sleep properly and to feed properly.Your baby has not responded to treatment with the saline drops which is unusual. He may have enlarged adenoids which is causing his nose to be so blocked. Please ask your paediatrician to see your baby.

Hi there. What did you did you doc say? I can suggest to buy a thing from Discem. It is called the Nose Frida. I though my daughter had the same took her to the doc and paid a fortune to be told she has a bad nasal congestion build up. She refered me to the Nose Frida. It works wonders. Give it a try. Its only R70

My little man does the same, although it doesn' t affect his sleep and he doesn' t scar his nose, he is now 6 months and a bit, but he tends to rub his eyes alot at night (i assume its his introduction to Mr sandman)!

I would also like to hear the answer to this!
