Q.

Baby' s cold not clearing. Has wet cough.

Hi Doc
My 11 month old has had a cold for 1 week now. He has a normal temparature. I took him to the doctor who advised that his chest is clear, but his nasal passages are blocked. The Doctor prescribed Illiadan. 2 days later. my son is now coughing, and I can here that is a wet cough. If his chest is clear, why is his cough wet, and where is the phlem coming from?

Your baby probably now has a chest infection associated with his cold. This is caused by a virus so antibiotics are not needed. He will get better by himself, but it usually takes at least 10 days for the illness to pass. Just keep his nose clear with Salex nose drops and do not use Iliadin.
