Baby vomitting

dear doc, my son of 8weeks tends to have episodes of vomiiting where he''d appear to have a spasm as if he is not breathing. this ussually happens when he is sleeping on the back. he''d turn red on the face. he''d recover after that. sometimes the vommit comes out of the nose. i took him to a paed who assued me its quite normal, as the air paasage would close itself to protect against traces of milk going into it. other than that he is thriving, weight is picking up normally and all the other reflexes are there. i was also advised to put gaviscon into the feed to help with making the milk solid. but this happens ussually when i breastfeed, instead of formula. it is qiuet frieghtninig when this happens. im just worried if this happens when he''s asleep and i cant see him. should i get second opinion and what can i do to help. can the baby outgrow this?

It is difficult to be certain about what is happening with your baby son. He is gaining weight but he is vomiting while sleeping and seems to choke on his vomit. This does not seem to be a normal event at all. I presume that you wind your baby well after every feed.He is not vomiting after every feed, but he is vomiting often enough to be concerned about your baby. This may be due to reflux or there may be another reason why your baby is vomiting like this. It is important to get a second opinion on your baby son ASAP.
