Q.

baby don't use hands

My baby is almost 12 months now and is normal in every way.he crawls around in the house; walk against the furniture,he's eating well and is interested in his surroundings. But he has a texture sensitivity - he still eats only smooth foods that I prepare from vegetables, chicken and rice. It must be very smooth! And everything has to be a bit sweet. He also doesn't like touching certain textures. He is very capable of using his hands, he's fine-motor skills are excellent for his age! - the ability to manipulate toys and other things with his fingers. What bothers me is that he still does'nt but anything into his mouth,NEVER He refuses to eat finger foods and small pieces of food. He never put any toy in his mouth. Must I be worried about this? Can this be a problem in future development? What can I do to help him?

He sounds perfectly normal to me. Many children do not like rough foods at this age and this can last for a good bit longer. Keep on feeding him smooth foods which he obviously loves. He has good fine motor coordination so there does not appear to be aproblem here.
