Baby development at 7½  months

I am starting to wonder about the development of my grand daughter, 7½  months old. She cannot sit on her own at all. She manages to roll from her back to her stomach, but not back to her stomach again. I know that my daughter is getting worried about it - should she worry?

Most babies can sit unaided at about 6 months, but other prefectly happy and healthy babies only do so at about 8 months. If your granddaughter was born prematurely you need to make allowance for this with her developmental milestones. If she was not a premature baby and is still not sitting when she is 8 months it would be a good idea to ask her paediatrician to see her.

i think u need not be concerned. my son rolled over when he was 4 months old. he never crawled on his stomach. instead he tried to get up on knees when he was 10 months old, crawled, sat, stood up and tried to walk in the next two months. by his first bday he was on track. but again if u r really worried u can consult ur paed. good luck.
