baby asthma

My 12 months baby has been coughing almost every month since he was four months. his doctor has diagonised him last weekend saying he has baby asthma and post nasal drip, he is always having this weezing chest and coughing mostly in the night.Every time when he sneeze there is this yellowgreenish mucus coming out.

The DR gave him steromien, panado syrup, brochodialiator(sp) cough syrup and an injection cant remember the name of it.

So doc can you please advice on any good over the counter medication that i can use to help him.
Is he going to be asthmatic for the rest of his life or there is a cure for this?

Please help.

I am not convinced that the diagnosis of asthma is correct here. It seems to me that your baby has some other chest problem possibly due to a post nasal drip.It is very rare these days for doctors to give babies injections for chest conditions and I am not happy about this. The bronchodilator syrup will make your baby very active and the Panado will do nothing for his chest problem. You need your baby to be properly diagnosed. Please take him to be seen by a paediatrician. If you cant afford to see a paediatrician in private practice please take your baby to your nearest provincial hopsital with a paediatric department.
