Atopic Eczema

Hi Prof

My little girl of 7 months has had a rash on her face(cheeks) neck.I dont have a medical aid but the clinic nurse told me i should buy mylocort+epizone A and use goes for few day and come back again..she is on S26 gold..she straches herself especially at night.

I would like to know if there is anything i can do to help the situation..I had asthma as a child n i have done some reading on the side n i think its Atopic Eczema.
How is it treated?
Should I change her milk..her stools are fine n she loves the milk n her weight is fine too..

Please help am really tired of the rash but i really cant afford to see a peasitrician now.
Can i use a fungal cream together with the mix(mylocort
+Epizone A or is there something else that i can use.

Your help will really be appreciate.

Many thanks,

Your little girl may well be allergic to milk and as a start try her on NAN HA which is a low allergy milk. The main direction for treating babies with eczema these days is to use as little cortisone ointment as possible and mostly to rely on moisturisers. Bath her using Epizone E and then rub Epimax cream into her skin all over. Only use the Mylocort ointment on difficult areas of her rash.Once it is clear try to stop using the Mylocort until it becomes necessary again. Only allow your baby to wear cotton clothing, no synthetics at all. Cut off all labels on her clotthing.Never use any soaps on her skin.Do not allow her to become overhot by using too many blankets or too thick a duvet when she sleeps.
