Hi Doc,
Please give me an indication on the symptoms of asthma, the ped declared yesterday that my baby has severe asthma and another ped said he has the RS Virus, I dont know who to believe as the medication for asthma cost me R1200 and I just want my baby to get better and breath normal.
Its heart breaking for me to see him so tiny and battling to breath, I hate smoking and will not expose my child to any smoking environment.
Must he reduce his fluid intake too?

He sounds as if he has a condition called bronchiolitis and not asthma. This is caused by the RS virus. Your son will get over the infection after about 10 days to 2 weeks.Asthma medicines are not indicated for bronchiolitis.

Yes he is on "Seretide 25/125", Preflam,Nuelin Liqued,Singulair,Cepodem,Zithromax,Reuteri, Zyratec and Ventolin for the Nebulizer and the rest just slipped my mind.

Yesterday after the doc appointment I just burst out of tears I have always done everything in my power to make sure he is in a good enviroment that is smoke-free and would freak if anybody would come near him with a cigareette.
I feel its my fault he is sick and should and could have done little angels thoat is red of all the coughing and I have not even picked it up as he dranked normal and did not complain about anything, I feel terrible that things got so far...I just hope he will get better....

Well my boy is also using asthma medication. He had a very bad chest (cough) about every week and sometimes I could actually see that he has diff breathing. (heig na asem)

He uses Beridual and Serintide (spelling?) for about 4months now and he is so much better.

What did he prescribed?
