Q.

ALLERGY TEST RESULT WHAT DOES THIS MEAN

Hi DR
My child is just over 1 year now. She has got this constant running nose and a phlem chest. She only now starting to get teeth.
I went to my GP and asked to send her for allergy test she cant go on like this we are at least 1 week in a month at the physio and she doesnt enjoy it at all.
The dr send her for the next test: PHAD & FOOD MIX.
PHAD (MIX. INHAL) < 0.35 0 Negative
it says on the results that the : INHALANT SCREEN IS NEGATIVE.
The common individual inhalants have not been individually tested as no additional information is likely to be obtained.
(WHAT DOES THIS MEAN/ WHAT DID THEY TEST THEN FOR)

RAST FOOD MIX:
FOOD MIX fx5 < 0.35 0 NEGATIVE

1) Anti histamines need not be withdrawn prior to testing.
2) Always do total serum IgE.
3) Class 2 and greater is interpreted as significant.
4) Values falling in Class 1 require more careful interpretation but may be significant in cases of food or mould allergy, where other antibodies may interfere.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
Must she go for futher more test and why didn't the GP send us for more test.
I am so affraid that she will develop asma.

Please put my mind to rest.

Thank you

In one word all this means is she is NOT allergic.
