Q.

allergies

Doc, I've been to see you with my boy Luandre, early this year regarding his allergies. Everything went VERY well, but the last 2 days he had this terrible red rash in his neck and on his lower back. It's warm and itchy. I would like your opinion on what might be the reason...so that I can eliminate it....I have introduced little bit of egg ect, but he also had some jellybabies on Wednesday, and had his swimminglesson in a pool at the gym, but the water didn't look good and smell a bit "off"(I mention this because of his mold allergy). The thing I'm suspecting the most is the introduction of Staysoft and sunlightsoftner in the washing this week, I thought taht the sweating around the neck and waist while he sleeps might have caused the rash. The rash is better when I apply a topical antihistamine. Does this sound like a food, mold or softner reaction?
Thanx for your advise

This sounds very much like a contact rash such as to clothing eg synthetic material, soap or softener or to something else he has been in contact with. Use the mild hydrocortisone ointment until the rash clears.
