Q.

Allergies

My 14 month old boy has an allergic reaction that I still have to find the cause. He scratches and develops red swelling around parts of his body except the face. I was given Allegex and Viocort for treatment and told it might be something he ate.

His condition improve but now has resurfaced. How do I find out what he is allergic to. I still breastfeed him and lately doesn't like his Nan 2. I also tried to give him Nido 1 and he does not like it either.

He can be very easily tested to see what he is allergic to by tests called RAST. Please take him to your paediatrician and request that these tests be done

A good way of determining what he might be allergic to is having blood tests done ex a food screening, and other tests your paed most advice you on when going to the pathologists
