I asked my gp if there is anything he can prescribe for my LO who is turning 3 in a few months that can make him a little bit drowsy so that we can get him to go to sleep in his own bed. Just for maximum 3 nights so that he can get used to the idea. (We have tried before and me and hubby just ended fighting and getting very jumpy with each other because of the lack of sleep) Is allergex safe to use?

No do not give him Allergex to make him sleep. It is an old fashioned antihistamine with unwanted side effects. Rather set a bedtime for him. Do not plead with him but speak firmly but kindly. Keep things calm and qiuiet in the house at bedtime. Read to him and try to let him fall asleep while you are reading. His Dad needs to help a lot in this regard. Do not let him come to your bed.Take him back to his own room each time. Use a small night light in his room.
