Good Evening doctor. I hope you will be able to assist me. My 4 year old daughter was prescribed Allecet by her paediatrician for her allergies and sinus''s about a year ago, but the problem is I cannot take her off it as if she goes of it for a couple of days she starts blocking up again, last week it was so bad, she complained of a headache and had a temperature of 39, until I gave her allecet and some calpol, the next day she was her old self! I give her 5ml every night before bed as it makes her drowsy and she is very grumpy if i give her 2.5 in the morning and then 2.5 at night. Is it safe to stay on it? he suggested it will be best if we remove her tonsils and allenoids, but Im still in doubt as she is petrified of needles and injections or any form of medication, so I dont know how they will get her to sleep to perform these surgeries

Allecet is an antihistamine syrup. It is the generic form of a popular and safe antihistamine called Zyrtec. Allecet can be given over long periods. It is best to give a single dose at bedtime.

Hi, please advise whether I'm able to give my 6 month old Allecet and if so what is the dosage? I was advised by the clinic sister that I could give him 2.5ml of Allergex at night but it made him so drowsy. He constantly has a snotty/congested nose and coughs a little on and off. The sister checked his ears, chest and throat and said they're all clear which indicates it must be an allergy. Your advice is greatly appreciated.
