Q.

Adverse reaction to formula's

Dear Doc

My son is 11 weeks old and i return to work in 5 weeks time. i need to find a suitable formula for him. thus far I have tried Nan, S26 and S26 gold; all of which cause projectile vomitting within 20 minutes (S26 gold) to 2 hours (Nan and S26) after feeding. this is generally followed by a few bouts of vomitting on the following 3 feeds. I am currently breastfeeding with no problems in terms of him drinking the breast milk and not reacting to it. His birth weight was 3.04kg and he currently weighs 5.2kgs.

what should my next step be? please help as i need to start weaning him onto the bottle soon.

Thanks

He seems to have a significant cow's milk allergy [not lactose intolerance] You should try him on Infasoy1 and see if he can tolerate a soya formula.

Your baby might have reflux. My baby use to do the same thing and I also thought it strange she gains weight but constantly brings up milk. Since putting her on Infacare Anti-Reflux she has been 110% better.
