Adenoids is the correct term. The adenoids are situated in the back of the nose and play a part in the development of immunity and of the immune system in babies and young children. Often the adenoids become enlarged and lead to quite severe blockage of the child's nose. Snoring is a sign of quite severe blockage of the nose in babies and young children.Try to clear your little toddler's nose by using saline nose drops such as Salex twice daily for at least 10 days. If there is no improvement and his nose still remains blocked he should be seen by an ENT specialist.
