Q.

Online friend has severe arm/leg pain

Good day, I have a question. I have an online friend from another country who has strong pains in either her legs either her arms which last for hours and happen once a week. She said she had them since she was little and when she went to a doctor 5 years ago he said it's just growing pain and that it will disappear within a year. When they didn't disappear and she went again, he said he will send her to a special doctor but he never did. She said it feels like her bones themselves hurt and I was wondering if you might have any idea as to what it could be. Thanks for your time and have a nice day.

It is very difficult to answer your question with certainty without being able to examine your friend. Her pains do not sound like and at this stage cannot be due to growing pains. A strong possibility is rheumatoid arthritis. She should be seen by a rheumatologist.
