Q.

Low weight baby

My daughter was 2.4 kgs at birth...she's on Infatrini formula.. she's is now 9 months and she only weighs 7.7 kgs .. she takes only 90 ml of formula 3 times daily and sometimes less .. she eats too little .. what should I do to improve her eating habits and is there any special meals I should introduce to her that may boost her weight?

The average weight for a baby girl of 9 months is 8.1 kg. Your baby daughter's present weight of 7.7 kg is slightly below the average on the infant growth chart for baby girls, falling between the so-called 25th percentile line and the average line (50th percentile). Seeing that her birth weight was far below the average of 3.2 kg for baby girls, she has actually done remarkably well and has moved up from the 3rd percentile line at birth to above the 25th percentile line on the growth chart now. This may sound very complicated, but in fact your baby girl has gained weight beyond her original expectation. There is absolutely no need for any concern. Please keep her on the same formula until she is at least 12 months.
