Good day Doctor, is it wise to fly domestically with a 3 weeks old baby, the flight will be one and a half hours over the festive season?

This is always a difficult question to answer. It is usually recommended that babies under 3 months should not fly. The main problem is the different air pressures inside the plane cabin and the effects of this on your baby's ears. The greatest changes occur during take off and landing. Seeing the flights are short and if it is possible to allow your baby to feed during take off and also from the time that the pilot announces that the plane is starting to descend for landing, it should be alright your baby to fly. The landing stage is more important than the take off part.
