Betanoid syrup for 5-6month old

Hi. My daughter is now 5 almost 6months old and has asthma (went to the doctor on Saturday) it started just after birth but got worse over time. he prescribed medication for her, one being Betanoid syrup. shes not sleeping well for 2days now and cries alot, shes usually a very friendly baby. i read now that betaniod is not good for children. I have Aspelone and Prednisolone from my other daughters thats left from when they were sick. should i rather give her one of them? and if so, how much should i give her? the Betanoid is prescribed 2.5ml, 2x daily, for not more than 7days. its day 3 now on it, but I did not give it to her tonight. Thank You

I am concerned about your baby and the fact that she was given such a strong cortisone as Betanoid at her age. It is most unlikely that she has asthma as it is very rare for asthma to start so early in life. She probably has a virus caused wheeze at present. Stop the Betanoid. Give her Aspelone syrup 2.5 ml once daily for 5 days. Your baby must be seen by a paediatric pulmonologist so that she can be properly diagnosed and treated correctly.
