Q.

Baby not sleeping through the night anymore

So my baby is 5 and a half months old. He used to sleep right through from about 9pm to 6am but for the last 2 weeks he has been waking up at 2am every morning. He is teething but there is no signs of the teeth emerging anytime soon, his gums arent swollen at all. I can see a bit of white but thats about it. What else could be causing this sudden change in sleeping pattern? I am currently feeding him Nan1 and we should be moving onto Nan2 in 2 weeks time, but his milk is almost finished. Does it matter if he is 5 months and 3 weeks old and I move him onto Nan2?

This is a good question. It could well be due to teething that your baby is waking at this time every night. His first teeth which are usually the two lower incisors ( in the middle of his lower gums) are likely to appear in the next 2 to 4 weeks. Another possibility is that he is waking because he is getting hungry. You can certainly start NAN2 now and it would also be a good idea to start him on a solid such as a little rice cereal twice a day to start. Then follow the instructions.
