Baby allergy

My 12 month old baby has a rash in her face particularly around her mouth and eyes. I have taken her to 2 doctors but still have the problem. The 1st doctor gave her Allergan drops for around her eyes and Advantan for the other areas but as soon as I stop using it, the rash returns. The 2nd doctor said there is not really much I can do about it. She said I must get her Allergex syrup since it is an allergy but the chemist said you can only give it to kids 2 and older and suggested I use Natura's mild allergies tablets. It does seem a little bit better but it is still quite bad. The 2nd doctor said there is no use going for blood tests since what are we going to do if we find out she is say allergic to grass? and that she will outgrow it.I have also changed her shampoo and at some stage stop giving her her iron supplement to see if that is not maybe the problem but there hasn't been any change. I still breastfeed her. It really does not look good. Please help!

It sounds as if your baby has an eczema rash. This is often due to an allergy or allergies in infants. Your baby should, indeed must, be seen by a paediatric allergist ASAP. There is absolutely no reason why she cannot be tested for allergies at her age. You have not been given good advice so far.
