Q.

Appetite stimulant and weight gain

Hi doctor, I have a 17 month old son who is a very fussy eater. He was born weighing 4.2kg and his weight just keeps on dropping. He's a very active baby but just won't eat. The only thing he eats is soft porridge and cereals (Nestum and Purity). He won't eat veggies / fruits, he won't eat what the rest of us is having for supper - I would then make him noddles or smash. I am very worried doctor as he's become very thin, he's always been a fussy eater, but I think being over active is also a cause of him getting so skinny. What can I give him to boost his appetite and also to help him gain weight. Someone told me about ViDaylin multivitamin, will it help my baby. Thanks Very worried mom :-(

You have put your question so well and it is obvious that you are concerned about your son. This is quite a common problem especially with children who are 'picky eaters' Google' picky eaters' for some advice. In the meantime it would be a good idea to give him Pediasure to help him to gain weight. Follow the instructions carefully so that he will benefit from being on Pediasure.
