Advice on reflux and Neocate formula

Please offer advice for us. My boy is 8 weeks old. He has been on AR Aptamil and Cow & Gate. He has also had the regular formula. He has been sick on all but along with this he is also very windy, griping, congested and overall unsettled. He is now on Neocate and Ranitidine to control the acid in his stomach, the Neocate is really thin so he is sick even more. We have tried the Gaviscon as advised by pediatrician but this made him so constipated and in turn the reflux worse. I have tried carobel to thicken the formula but it doesn't agree with him, he screams for hours. I know we are dealing with reflux but my concern is he has an allergy also, hence the reason I cannot use a regular AR formula. I need to know a way to keep his milk down and ease the discomfort for him But I have run out of ideas?

Neonate is a special amino acid formula for milk allergy. I agree that your baby’s main problem is his reflux. He cannot tolerate the thickening agents and is battling with his reflux as a result. He may be better on a more effective acid lowering medicine such as omeprazole. There does not appear to be a good reason for him to be on Neocate.
