Q.

Accidentally took corenza c and am breastfeeding

I drank a glass of berocca that my husband had made for himself and then he told me it also had two Corenza C tablets in it. I am breastfeeding our daughter so am very concerned. How long do I need to wait until I can safely breastfeed her? I’m concerned that two tablets will take very long to get out of my system, and my breast milk.

Your question needed to be answered urgently the same day, but has only appeared now. There are a number of ingredients in Corenza C which can pass into your breast milk including aspirin, chlorphenamine and phenylephrine. Corenza C is not permitted for children under 12 years. Ideally to be quite safe it is best to wait 24 hours after taking Corenza C before recommencing breast feeding.
