9month old not getting better

hi doc,
my baby boy has been sick for over a month now and just not getting better, he has been suffering with chest infections, bronchitis, runny nose and ear infections since the age of 2 months. he has been on cortizone and antibiotics. two weeks ago we took him back to doc cos he was not getting better, his ear infection had gotten worse so they gave him orelox, he still was not better, i have been using iliadin but not working. we took him back yesterday cos he is very chesty, runny nose (clear) and his ears have been worrying him. the doc said he might have to have a ear operation and have gromits put in but before that she has put him on a 6 week course of Rhinolon every day and then aspelone and klaccid and texa. he was chesty but she said that his chest is clear and could not hear anything, now i am not happy with that diagnosis as he is still very wheezy today and the day mother looking after him can hear it. i dont want to leave things to the last minute when it is too late. i am also weary on using the rhinolon. do u think i should take him to E.N.T. or what should i do? please help thanks

It sounds as if your baby has an illness called recurrent viral wheezing. I am not familiar with a medicine called Rhinolon and cannot find any information about it. How many other children attend his daymother as he has the problems commonly seen in babies who attend a creche? Your baby would be best off being diagnosed and treated by a paediatric pulmonologist. You will find these specialists in all the main centres in SA.
