9 month Snores

My baby boy is 9 months old, at night he is snoring like an old man. When he goes to bed i make sure he''s on his back and also make sure his head is elevated but it doesn''t make any difference i am now concerned.

I am also concerned as babies of this age should not be snoring. The fact that your baby snores means that his nose is very blocked. Babies have to be able to breathe through an open nose in order to sleep soundly and to feed normally. The danger of snoring is that some babies may stop breathing for a few seconds at a time which is called sleep apnoea. The most likely cause of your baby's blocked nose is enlarged adenoids. He must be seen by an ENT specialist as soon as possible. While you are waiting for the appointment please use Salex nose drops twice daily in your baby's nose to try to clear his nose as much as possible.
