8 Month old boy has blue lips

My nephew' s lips turn blue - quite alot actually. He is now turning 8 months on 29 Aug. At first I thought it might be cold thats causing it, but I dont really think so. We are normally inside and its at a comfortable heat. Not cold.

He drewels quite alot. But I read somewhere that actually means he is a healthy baby. But the fact that he drewels alot, could also mean that his lips are almost always wet and I think its then cold. Could that be? Or should we be a bit more worried??

Please could you advise?

Thank you

This is not an easy question to answer. Your nephew's blue lips may be normal especially if he is cold, but could also mean that he may have a heart problem. Another possibility is that he may be being exposed to excessive amounts of carbon monoxide. Is a gas heater or paraffin heater being used in the room where the baby is?Please have him checked by a doctor just to be on the safe side.
