This can be normal in some babies especially when they feel bored or sleepy. Head shaking can also occur as babies learn about and develop the muscle control over their bodies. Sometimes babies shake their heads from side to side if they have an ear infection. It is very difficult to be sure in such a young baby if this head shaking is normal or is due to some other cause. Your baby is also a bit young to shake her head from side to side as most commonly this starts at about 3 months. So it would be a good idea to ask your paediatrician to see her just to be on the safe side.
