I am wondering why you need to give your baby gripe water at his age.He is unlikely to still have colic. He may have reflux which is causing him discomfort. Please write again and tell me what your baby''s symtoms are, also his weight and what formula he is on.

he weighs 6.5 kgs now. he weighed 2.74 during birth and was out 20 days prior to his date. he is being breast fed infact exclusively breast fed for the first six months. he is very irritable during nights and gets up more frequently from his sleep than b4. he doesnt have any teething problems as far as i know. he is very gassy most of the times and passes wind often. he keeps crying too sometimes. wat cud be the reason behind this?

Your baby could have a lactose intolerance problem.Try him off the breast and on a lactose free formula such as NAN LF for at least 2 days and see if he improves. If he does not please write in again.

he never showed the above symptoms for the past six months though he had been breastfed only. he has these only for the past two weeks after starting his solid foods. could that be a problem. i am just giving him cerelac rice cereal sometimes mixed with water and sometimes with my breast milk.

Your baby's symptoms appear to have started since he has been on Cerelac cereal.Cerelac contains cow's milk and it seems that he has been exclusively breast fed up to now. There are several possibilities. Your baby may be allergic to cow's milk or to wheat or less likely,he may have lactose intolerance.Stop the Cerelac and change to a rice cereal such as Purity rice cereal which does not contain milk. His symptoms should soon stop. If they do you will need to continue to avoid cow's milk and wheat in your baby's diet. If you need to put him on a formula it should be a hypo-allergenic milk formula.

Cerelac is great way to fulfill your baby daily dietary and nutritive requirements. It has Iron, Calcium, Fatty Acids and Vitamins thats helps child in early stage development.
