6 month old refuses all types of formula

My 6 month old has been refusing her formula and cereal since last Fri. She has been on S26 since born however she no longer wants it nor any other formula. I took her to the pead on Mon and he prescribed Ferrimed for iron and Vi Daylin for appetite. He said I should give it a week before I see any results however I am getting concerned. She use to average 500ml a day and is now down to 150ml if I'm lucky. Her solid intake is perfect however she will not eat any baby food. Give her adult food and she will gobble it up but will not take any baby food.

I am concerned that she is not getting the iron, calcium and vitamins she needs. Doc, please advice whether I should worry or whether the supplements given to my baby will be okay.

She weighs 7.2kg

Thank you

Your baby's weight is exactly on the average for her age which is good news. The supplements will do nothing to increase her appetite as she is gobbling up adult food already and this is filling her up. I don't have to tell you that the main source of nutrition for your baby at her age is milk. She seems to have gone off the S26. Try her on another formula such as Lactogen2 or Novalac SD and see if she prefers one of these.Offer her the formula before giving her any solids which fill her up.

Thank you doc.

I have tried both the Novalac and Lactogen 2 and she still does not want the formula. If I fill a cup with water and 1 with formula (regardless of brand) she would rather drink the water than the milk. She even refuses her milk after a full nights sleep (with no meal prior). Do you think it is time to introduce her to cows milk?

As a means of getting some formula into my baby, I have resorted to making her meals (egg toast, pasta etc) with her milk. Atleast this way she is getting some of the formula.

Thank you once again doc
