6 month old baby with phlegm on chest

Dear Doc,
My 6 month old baby is not fussy and appears to healthy. However, he has stubborn phlegm on his chest. His breathing is normal, however, when I put my hand on his chest I can feel the phlegmy chest. He also coughs occasionally. I am using Trifen as recommended by the pharmacist. We also use the nasal aspirator twice a day, and spray his nose with Baby flo nasal spray frequently. I rub his chest with Puma balm in the morning and at night. He is at creche. Otherwise he is growing well according to his peadiatrician. He is a ''happy chappy'' apart from the phlegm.
Kind regards,

You do not mention just how long your baby has had this mucous on his chest.Your baby appears to be happy and is not dstressed, but you are aware that he has mucous on his chest. This may be the result of an earlier chest infection. It may take up to 6 weeks for a baby of this age to get over a viral chest infection such as bronchioloitis. As long as your baby is able to sleep well and to feed well there is no need for concern. You appear to be treating your baby correctly.
