Q.

5 month old in car seat to Durban from JHB?

The thr road trip from Jhb to Durban too long for a 5 month old baby?
I know that too long in those car seats is not good for their backs?

It is long, but if you can break the journey a few times it should not be a problem. The most important advice would be NOT to take your baby out of the carseat while you are driving, because that leaves them extremely exposed.

Hi dee,
My little one was 3 and half months when we went on holiday and it was a 9hour trip. I did not use her carseat cause she was not comfortable in it. So i sit at the back with her while she lied on pillows and blankets. I know its very risky cause a accident can happen so quickly, but i believe the pillows and blankets will be a very big help in a situation like that. Thats my opinion. Of course i use her carseat around the city but long roads i use blankets and pilows.
