Q.

3 year old not eating

Hi

My nanny's 3 year old has stopped eating. She says that he will only drink juice but he keeps saying he's not hungry - been going on for a week. I have told her to take him to the clinic but in the meantime, could this be worms or something or just a phase 3 year olds go through. Was eating normally up to this point. He's at creche all day.

Thanks

This could be the result of all the things you mention plus others such as anaemia or TB. It is unusual for a child of this age to completely refuse to eat and the juice will not be an adequate form of nutrition. His mother must have him seen by a doctor.
