Q.

3 weeks and vomiting after most feeds

Hi I have checked the archives and have not found anything that fits my question: My baby seems to be vomiting quite a lot. This is not normal spitting up little bits of milk after a feed - he retches and then it comes pouring out. He did this 2x today and yesterday as well. He is not feverish or sick in any other way. Must I see the doc?

Paediatrician

For sure you need to see a paediatrician. He may have a problem called pyloric stenosis or this may in fact be due to severe reflux.

Just see a Paed. It's reflux. Our Paed gave ZANTAC. It really helped for the heartburn. Keeping baby upright after feeds and letting baby sleep at a 30-40 degree angle will help with the vomiting. And also more frequent smaller feeds. As soon as we lifted our baby's mattress with a wedge cushion he stopped pouring out his milk after feeds.

Please also say whether he is on formula or breast-milk, as well as the mother's diet.
This may indicate whether it's caused by allergies...
