3 week infant with stomach cramps

My 3 week old daughter has severe stomach cramps when feeding and wakes up at night crying because of it. She has about 4 stools per day (mustard color) and same consistancy. She is not breastfeeding. She is alert and responds to sounds and light (not "droopy"). It seems as though the stomach cramps only occur after dark and before dawn (might be a major coincidence or dumb luck or I am paranoid). Please help as I am at wits end (first baby).

There are at least 2 possibilities here. Firstly she could be having colic, but more likely is she has lactose intolerance. Try her on a lactose free formula and see if there is an improvement. If not try a simple colic remedy-speak to your pharmacist about this.

I think it migh be the formula you are usuing. My son had the same problem. He was being being breastfed and getting top ups with NAN. I was advised to stop the NAN. I use S26 gold now and it worked well. havent had a problem again.

I had the same problems with my first son. Guess it was a bit of colic....mostly at night.......if you are in UK....try infacol. It was a lifesaver for me!
