2yr old vomiting

Hello Doc,

My 2yr old is recovering from a runny nose and now shes started throwing up. Ive noticed that she throws up after coughing, it usually happens at around 1h00am and also around 8h00am when she wakes up. and before she throws up she always complains about" mommy my stomach hurts" .

The previous visit to the doctor, she gave her Buscopen for stomach cramps. should i continue giving her that or is there anything else i can give her? A colleque suggested desselex and allegerx.

It sounds as if your little girl has a post nasal drip problem. It is the mucous running backwards down her throat and then being swallowed and ending up in her stomach that causes her to have this tummy ache. The mucous drip also causes her to cough.Try to keep her nose as clear as possible by using a saline nasal spray twice daily. Chldren quite like the Sterimar sea water nasal spray. She does not need Buscopan or antihistamines such as Allergex or Deselex.
